LARGE COMMERCIAL. In addition to providing reliable energy and making commercial facilities more resilient, Flex Turbines® can help users reduce costs and meet their sustainability and emissions reduction goals. Utilizing an on-board hot water heat exchanger for efficient onsite combined heat and power (CHP), facilities can improve their energy efficiency and simultaneously realize a potent alternative to costly utility power. Absorption chiller systems paired with the Flex Turbine reduce facility cooling costs for a 24/7 combined cooling, heat, and power solution.

Flex Turbines present a cost-effective, efficient, and clean solution for reliable on-site electricity. When critical power from the utility is unpredictable, our turbines provide seamless electricity during intermittent or extended interruptions. FlexEnergy Solutions’ systems operate in dual mode configuration, providing power to priority loads in case of utility outages. Flex Turbines provide more efficient energy production, delivery, and use, as well as resiliency.

INDUSTRIAL. CHP technology, while not new to industrial applications, is an increasingly attractive alternative and/or supplement to grid power. It can be deployed quickly, cost-effectively, and with few geographic limitations.

Two critical elements for industrial facility operation are reliable, highly efficient electricity and thermal energy, or process heat. Flex Turbines provide on-site cogeneration of these critical elements, effectively replacing or supplementing the need for power delivery by the utility. And because Flex Turbines recover and re-use otherwise wasted thermal energy for heating and cooling, they simultaneously eliminate the need for industrial facilities to burn fuel in additional on-site boilers or furnaces.

The national average of efficiency for separately providing utility power and on-site fuel burning equipment is approximately 50%. However, in implementing CHP technology, industrial facilities can see increased efficiency of 65-75%.

Flex Turbines’ wide fuel operability makes it possible for them to run on just about any type of gas, potentially even gas produced at the industrial site. This presents an opportunity for industrial facilities to realize even greater savings and efficiencies from their operations.
